Bamboo Jungle Hut Bunk Bed

Taylored For Texas has been blessed with the opportunity to work with many decorators that enlist Scott with fun and interesting projects. The Jungle Hut bunk bed unit was one such request. A much sought after local Dallas designer presented her client’s jungle theme idea to him with the main requirement being that this project MUST capture, as closely as possible, the reality of a true jungle hut. Its immediate use would be providing the perfect atmosphere for a baby bed area and then later on transforming to a bunk bed that would keep any child’s imagination busy. Taylored For Texas was given complete creative reign of the project. He worked with a bamboo company in California to ship in the authentic bamboo and thatch material that would be incorporated with our classic elements to bring to life Scott’s vision of a 14 foot tall jungle hut. As a mill takes a tree and turns it into wood parts for building, Scott did the reverse and turned wood parts back into tree trunks. Scott’s tedious work and extreme attention to detail created every knot hole and inflection within the wood parts for this bed.The final turn-out was the manifestation of a hut that would normally be found in the wilds of an African jungle, taking its residency right here in Texas!
